To show support for President Deb, Seaford Rotary held its first event for BCNA in 2025. Immediately following this very successful High Tea (supported by the Sisters of Abundance Choir, Dragons Abreast Australia rowing group and the band Vintage Blend), members voted to make this an annual event.
On Sunday 26th July 2026, Seaford Rotary members, friends and our community, supported our second High Tea for Breast Cancer Network Australia. Those in attendance were delightfully entertained by members of the South Coast Chamber Orchestra.
Community response has meant both events were sold out.
At both events, a mini field of women was created.
At both events, gestures of memoriam could be written.
In her opening, our MC Shona Smart (a Seaford Rotary member), asked anyone who had not experienced, or knew someone who had, Breast Cancer to raise their hands. Not one hand went up! Breast cancer is a community concern. It not only impacts individuals (male and female) it also has a ripple effect across their families, friends and communities.
Each day 56 Australians are newly diagnosed with Breast Cancer. BCNA provides free support to anyone who needs it, once a diagnosis has been made. Breast Cancer Network Australia is a source for trusted information as the situation develops and questions arise and decisions need to be made. BCMA offers website, podcast, written, telephone and Beacon magazine services, many of which are available 24/7. Their Helpline provides advice, referrals or someone to speak with who understands what a Breast Cancer diagnosis might mean.
Seaford Rotary is proud is be supporters of Breast Cancer Network Australia.
