It’s Rotary, but maybe not what you’re expecting.
Chartered in 2016, The Rotary Club of Seaford is about modern, contemporary, flexible Rotary. It may look and feel a little different to many traditional Rotary clubs. We do regularly get together to socialise and plan future projects, events and fundraising initiatives, but want to focus less on meetings, and more on community service.
A growing community with growing concerns.
The Seaford region is one of the fastest growing areas in South Australia. Ours is such a beautiful part of the state, with pristine beaches to the west and the popular McLaren Vale wine region to the east. Yet a scratch beneath the surface will reveal complex challenges such as homelessness, food insecurity, domestic violence, unemployment and disaffected youth. Rotary’s strength lies in its ability to bring together community minded individuals of diverse backgrounds to discuss and address such community challenges. In our short history, we have made an indelible impact on our local community. Our club format has also made an impact on the wider Rotary community, recognised globally as an example of innovation and flexibility, with multiple new clubs following the Seaford Rotary model to bring a new volunteer base into the organisation.
Our Meetings and Events.
We hold two informal meetings per month, usually on the first Thursday and the third Sunday. Venues are rotated, and visitors are always welcome. Please check our Event Calendar page for more information.
