Seaford Rotary Seaside Walk

This year’s walk is Sunday, October 13, 2024.

This leisurely and picturesque walk along The Esplanade commences at 9.30am from Port Noarlunga South and concludes at Nashwauk Reserve, Moana, where you will find numerous family friendly activities, food, entertainment and information stalls on mental wellbeing and suicide prevention. Registered walkers get a free sausage sizzle and bottle of water.

The Seaford Rotary Seaside Walk (formerly the Onkaparinga Seaside Walk for Suicide Prevention) was first conducted by the Rotary Club of Seaford on World Suicide Prevention Day in 2017 raising $7,000 for suicide prevention initiatives. With the exception of 2020 when the event was cancelled due to COVID, it has been run every year since, raising in excess of $22,000 suicide prevention and mental health initiatives.

Proceeds from the inaugural event were used to fund a study by Dr. Angela Nicholas into Suicide Prevention through Australian Rotary Health. Our club hosted a Suicide Prevention Strategies event where Angela gave an excellent presentation. Please scroll down to the bottom of the page.
